He was born April 17, 1925 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to William Paul and Florence Viola Tillard Harrington.
Jay served his country faithfully as a Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force specializing in Explosive Ordinance Disposal.
Survivors include his daughters: Janet Joy Harrington Smith of Virginia and Mary Sue Harrington Atchley of Texas; two step-sons: Joe LeClair of Oklahoma and Jack John LeClair, Jr. of Texas as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother to his children: Emiko Watanabe Harrington; infant son in 1954 Richard James Harrington.; second wife: Grace Jeanette Harrington.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday May 21, 2017 at Primrose Funeral Service, Norman. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday May 22, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman.
