Since Jim was adopted around 11 months old, and because accurate records have not been located, it is believed he was born in southwestern Oklahoma. He passed away at Saint Ann's in Oklahoma City, his residence for the final 16 months of his life.
While Jim moved around a lot as a child and lived back and forth in adulthood between the Dallas, TX area and Norman, OK, he ultimately returned to Norman in 1976 where he remained until moving to Saint Ann’s in Oklahoma City in 2024. Adopted as a very young child after the death of his mother, in adulthood he discovered many siblings spread across the U.S. He had a very successful career in sales from a young age and ultimately owned his own medical alarm company. He loved traveling the world, especially to delve into history, and was a lover of animals, adopting several in their old age so that they would not die without homes. He loved yardwork and gardening and often had the prettiest yard in the neighborhood.
The past 16 months of his life were spent at Saint Ann’s in Oklahoma City, where he was blessed to meet one of the best friends he ever had, his roommate Don. Together, they spent many hours talking about God and sharing stories about their lives. They were a very popular duo around the halls of Saint Ann’s, where he made lots of friends and loved to make people laugh and feel encouraged. It became an end-of-life mission for him that he never could have anticipated.
We are glad he is with the Lord now where there is no more sickness or loneliness or sadness of any kind.
Jim is survived by three daughters, Carri Rohlmeier, Kristina Reinish, and Amanda Harvey, along with their families which include four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest at IOOF.
