Jeremy spent his childhood between Oklahoma and Georgia, attending Walker Consolidated School in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and later Rockmart Middle and High School in Rockmart, Georgia. He eventually made his home in Norman, Oklahoma, where he built a life centered on family, friendship, and perseverance.
One of Jeremy’s greatest accomplishments was achieving sobriety, a milestone he was deeply proud of. Through determination and hard work, he built a successful career, became a homeowner, and created a life filled with purpose and gratitude. His journey was an inspiration to those who knew and loved him.
Jeremy had a larger-than-life personality and truly lived each day to the fullest. He loved all kinds of music and could always be found planning his next fishing or camping trip, searching for the next great CB radio deal, or setting off on an impromptu road trip.
Jeremy could grill and cook like no other, and nothing made him happier than preparing a great meal to share with family and friends. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making people laugh. Whether he was sharing a funny video, enjoying good food, or spending time with his beloved fur babies, Jeremy found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
More than anything, Jeremy loved his daughter, Merry, who was the light of his life. He also treasured his common-law wife, Deborah Michelle Gonzalez, along with his family, countless friends, and his faithful Cockapoo, Honey. His other cherished companions—Kai, Brownee, Gypsy, Gracie, and Ginger—brought him endless happiness.
Jeremy had a way of making everyone around him feel welcome. He taught those he loved to never leave words unspoken, often reminding them, “Love y’all.” He believed life was meant to be enjoyed, laughter was meant to be shared, and every gathering was better because he was there. He wanted to be remembered as the life of the party, and that is exactly how so many will remember him—with a smile, a laugh, and a heart full of love.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, Joe Allen Harris; his stepmother, Sharon “Brownie” Harris; his stepfather, Kenny Vickers; his cousin, Michael Pope; his uncle, Tony Pope; his grandparents, Arlene Harris, Alford Harris, Betty Harris, M.H. Pope, and Mary Lee Pope; his stepbrother, Brian Lowe; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Miguel Gonzalez;; and his aunt Jeanette Harris Wingrow.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Merry; his devoted common-law wife, Deborah Michelle Gonzalez; his mother, Denise Pope Vickers; “His Sissy”, Teri; his siblings; several nieces and nephews; numerous extended family members and dear friends; and his treasured fur babies, Honey, Kai, Brownee, Gypsy, Gracie, and Ginger.
Jeremy’s legacy is one of resilience, laughter, unconditional love, and living life with an open heart. Though his time here was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
