

John Passek III, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on April 26, 2026 in Oklahoma City, OK surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 1, 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John Passek II and Anna Mae (Barth) Passek.
He married Renda Reed Passek on June 20, 1970 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, Pennsylvania. They were blessed to have two wonderful children Dana Passek and Elizabeth Passek-Jones. As life went on, they added their loving son-in-law, Brian Jones to the family, along with their three precious granddaughters, Olivia, Sophia and Lydia Jones.
John grew up attending St. Athanasius Church and school. He also attended Cardinal Dougherty High School. He was the grandson of Ukrainian immigrants and learned the value of hard work and strong family traditions from them and his father. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. He was proud of his service in the USMC. He was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan and two of the highlights in his life were when they won the Superbowl in 2018 and 2025.
John had a long career in automotive management which took his family to Pennsylvania, Indiana and Oklahoma twice. Along the way, he made lifelong friends especially in Berwick, PA. John traveled the USA and also to many countries throughout his career. He attended Bloomsburg University, Penn State, and Michigan State University. He especially enjoyed the last position of his career at Long Wave in Oklahoma City.
John enjoyed his time on the golf course. He especially enjoyed cooking for his family. He loved making his specialty recipes including halupki and pierogies. He and his wife, Renda, also spent time with their three granddaughters, attending all of their activities. After retirement, John also liked spending his time fishing and gardening.
John is survived by his wife Renda Reed Passek, son Dana Passek, daughter Elizabeth (Brian) Passek- Jones, and Charlie their standard poodle. Other family members include his brother Joseph (Melody) Passek, brothers’ and sisters-in-law Rodney (Pam) Reed and Rockey (Colleen) Reed. He is survived by five nieces and two nephews.
John was predeceased by his parents John and Anna Mae Passek, his beloved sister Joanne Killian and brother-in-law Robert Killian, and their son, Michael Killian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Norman, OK on May 7th at 10:00AM.
The Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Norman, OK, immediately following the Mass.
