

John graduated from York High School in 1971 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He later achieved his doctorate from the University of Texas. After working as a Chemical Engineer for several years, John accepted a teaching position at the University of Oklahoma, where he dedicated 30 years to teaching and conducting research.
An avid tennis player for much of his life, John continued to stay active well into retirement by frequenting the gym. He enjoyed spending time with friends at the Senior Center, participating in local campaigns, and attending his Bible study group.
A lifelong dog lover, John always had a canine companion by his side. Known for his generosity, he supported his family by organizing memorable vacations together.
John is survived by his sister, Teresa of Norman; his brother, Dan of Kearney, NE; as well as nieces and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with John's wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, an informal gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date to celebrate his life. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
