Jonna is survived by her husband of 20 years Michael Buck of Norman, OK. Children Abigail Mueller of San Antonio, TX; Jordan Reagan of Broken Arrow, OK; Jared Buck of Norman, OK. Granddaughter Oakleigh Reagan of Broken Arrow, OK. Parents John Chris Christopher and Carmen Christopher of Norman, OK. Siblings Carol Stoecker of Denton, TX; Chris Jr. and LaDawn Christopher of Blanchard, OK; and a host of relatives. Jonna is preceded in death by mother Martha Christopher.
Jonna was born on February 22, 1966 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She grew up in Woodward, Oklahoma and graduated from Woodward High School with honors. She continued her education at The University of Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 1988. She received her Master’s degree in Management from Southern Nazarene University in 1999.
Jonna was on the debate team in high school, and was heavily involved in the local 4-H Club.
While Jonna was attending The University of Oklahoma, she was active in the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band for 4 years as a part of the Color Guard. Jonna also interned with Senator David Boren in Washington D.C.
Jonna had a career with Oklahoma Electric Cooperative for over 30 years, starting as an intern and working her way up to Vice President of Administration. Her drive and passion were apparent in high school as she sewed on belt loops at Trego’s Western Wear factory and acted as DJ at Q100 radio station in Woodward, Oklahoma.
Jonna was an active member of her community, serving as the President of her Rotary Club, and on the board of Operation Round Up. She wrote several grants for various organizations, and frequently gave her time for volunteer work. Her family and friends will always remember her servants heart.
A memorial service will be held on May 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp RYLA at Rotary District 5570 – Ryla PO Box 1533, Norman, OK. 73070.
