Karen Louise Fucci, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on October 20, 2026, leaving a legacy of kindness, strength, and devoted love for her family. Karen was the daughter of Bruno Lorenzini and Emma Louise Maltagliati.
On June 5, 1982, she married August Fucci, and together they shared 44 years of marriage. Her life took her to Washington, Germany, North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina before she made Oklahoma her home in 2020. Along the way, she received the Superior Civilian Service Award from the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, a meaningful recognition of her dedication and professional contributions.
Karen embraced life with curiosity and energy. She enjoyed tennis, running, biking, traveling, and spending time at the beach, and she was a former member of the United States Tennis Association. The music of the Beach Boys, a John Wayne movie, a Broadway play, or a college basketball game were among her many pleasures. At home, she found happiness in cooking, baking, crafting, and gardening.
Above all, Karen treasured her family. She delighted in supporting her grandchildren in everything they did and took pride in being part of their lives. Christmas was especially dear to her, as were hosting parties and bringing loved ones together. Even a simple bowl of butter pecan ice cream belonged among the things that made her smile.
Friendly, caring, and always willing to help, Karen taught those around her the importance of patience, accountability, trust, perseverance, and character. These lessons were reflected in how she lived and in the example she set for her family.
Karen is survived by her husband, August Fucci; her daughter, Jackie McAdoo, and husband, Brad, of Tuttle, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Emily Poplin and her husband, Keaton, Macy Surber and her husband, Luke, and Brady McAdoo, all of Tuttle; and her great-grandchildren, Karter, Mac, and Hayes Poplin. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with her beloved pet, West.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tommy; her parents, Bruno and Emma; her brothers, Albert and Jimmy; her sisters, Rosalia and Esther; her sisters-in-law, Sandy, Doris, Shelly, and Patti; her parents-in-law, August and Carolyn; and her brothers-in-law, Edward and Jimmy.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Home Instead and Elara Caring for their care and support. Memorial donations may be made in Karen’s honor to Alzheimer’s Association research at https://events.alz.org/fundraisers/jackiemcadoo/in-loving-memory-of-karen-fucci.
Karen will be lovingly remembered in the family traditions she helped create, the values she passed down, and the everyday moments that will forever bring her to mind.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Primrose Funeral Service, 3901 N Flood Ave., Norman, OK 73069, US, on October 26, 2026, at 10:30 am.
