Kimberly Katrell Morgan, born to Cathy D. Brown on January 1, 1974 in Chicago, ILL. She was the second of four children. She was raised in Norman, OK by Clyde and Cathy Brawner, Sr. Kimberly accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Seeker Church in Norman, OK.
Kimberly believed in the power of knowledge and continuous learning. After graduating from Norman High School in Norman, OK she continued her post-secondary education at Rose State College, in Midwest City, OK, the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, OK, as well as the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK, earning multiple degrees including an Associate of Arts degree, Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, Master of Education degree in Guidance Counseling, as well as a Master of Education degree in Early Childhood Education.
As an adult Kimberly enjoyed several things including reading and cooking, but nothing could compare to the joy and fulfillment that she received from caring for those around her and the families that she worked with throughout the course of her career.
Most notably, her daughter, Aiva was the centerpiece of her life whom she admired and loved immensely. Kimberly gave thanks for Aiva everyday and loved being her mother. Her most recent and impactful career was working at the Oklahoma State Department of Health at Sooner Start as an Early Childhood Development Specialist working with children and families to provide services aiding in the growth and development of young children.
Kimberly lived a fulfilled life, full of love, appreciation, and support for her family and friends. She was a light of encouragement and inspired all around her to live with love and patience.
On Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 6:33pm, Kimberly Katrell Morgan departed this life and began a new life with our Lord. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Ethel Robinson, her paternal grandmother Barbara Brawner, her three uncles Thomas Brawner, Bernard Brown, and Michael Brown as well as her sister Cynthia Morgan. She leaves to mourn her parents, Clyde and Cathy Brawner, Sr., her daughter, Aiva, her siblings Christine, LaKinyah, Angel, and J.R., her nieces Malisha, Amaya, Serena, Shaylyn and Erin, her nephews Kevin, Darius, Ayden, CJ and Jayden, as well as, several close relatives, friends, and colleagues whose lives she impacted in many positive ways.
Visitation will be held at Primrose Funeral Service, 3901 N Flood Ave., Norman, OK 73069, US, on April 26, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Primrose Funeral Service, 3901 N Flood Ave., Norman, OK 73069, US, on April 27, 2026, at 10:00 am.
Final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 E. Indian Hills Rd., Norman.
