Linda Pat (Tyler) Cox

Linda married the love of her life, Billy Cox, on January 4, 1955. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and creating lasting memories. They shared many wonderful years together until Billy’s passing in 2001.

A longtime resident of Norman, Oklahoma, Linda later moved to Edmond, where she spent nine years living with her daughter, Sherry, and son-in-law, John. In 2024, they moved together to Wakita, Oklahoma, where she spent the remainder of her life surrounded by the love and care of her family.

Linda had a true gift for sewing. For many years, if you were looking for her, you could almost always find her happily sitting at her sewing machine, creating something with her talented hands. When she wasn’t sewing, she enjoyed relaxing in her recliner with her faithful Chihuahua, Ellie, never far from her side.

She shared her skills and passion of sewing with her daughter Sherry, and with the rest of her family the love of the outdoors that she and Bill treasured throughout their lives. She especially loved traveling, with Disney World holding a special place in her heart, and she delighted in making cherished memories with those she loved most.

Above all else, Linda was devoted to her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, sewing alongside her daughter Sherry, traveling, and enjoying the companionship of her beloved dog Ellie. She will be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother to her five children, a treasured grandmother, and a woman whose kindness, creativity, and quiet strength touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Cox; her son, Ricky Cox; her daughter, Sandra Blackwood; her brother, Billy Tyler; and her sister, Clara Hartley.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Randy Cox and wife, Karie, of Norman, Oklahoma; Rusty Cox and wife, Ranee, of Holdenville, Oklahoma; and Sherry Mullins and husband, John, of Wakita, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brother, Wendall Tyler and wife, Robbie, of Duncan, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Anita Cox of Norman, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her beloved fur baby, Ellie; and many other relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Linda’s legacy is one of unconditional love, hard work, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family. The memories she stitched together through her life, whether with needle and thread, family vacations, or simple moments spent together, will continue to warm the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 East Indian Hills Road, Norman, OK 73071, US, on July 21, 2026, at 10:00 am.
