Lisa LeAnn Burks-Standridge was born on November 27th, 1954, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Barbara and Troy Lee Burks. She departed this life on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the Oklahoma University Medical Center, at the age of 60.
LeAnn was a smart, beautiful and vivacious woman, with a sharp sense of humor and a love of life. She was a voracious reader with a talent for cooking who loved fishing with her children and grandchildren. In later years, LeAnn expressed her artistic flair through embroidery. Her early aptitude for music blossomed into a lifetime of music-making, and she enjoyed sharing her love of singing, piano and guitar with the regional folk music community and with music students over the many years of her musical career.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara Newton, of Norman; brother, James and Cindy Burks, of Liberty Hill, Texas; sister Valerie Newton, of Norman; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Stacey Haralson, of Norman; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Paul Kerr, of Norman; daughter and son-in-law, Emerald and Lucas Weber, of Noble; eight grandchildren: Seth, Liam and Finn Kerr, Gabriel Scroggins, Noah and Eli Weber, Brody and Kate Haralson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Troy Lee Burks; stepfather, Paul Newton; sister, Paula Jo Blanton; and granddaughter, Grace Kathryn Haralson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8PM. Funeral service will be held 10AM Thursday at the Primrose chapel, with interment to follow at Norman IOOF Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service in Norman.
