Louise Holmes Autery

Louise Holmes Autery, of Norman, OK, was born in Hartford, Kansas on August 6, 1925. She passed away peacefully in her home on March 30, 2011, with her family by her side. She graduated as valedictorian of her high school class and attended The University of Oklahoma. From 1956-1969, she worked at the Oklahoma State Legislature as the Budget Director’s Secretary. From 1971-1974, she worked at the Oklahoma Department of Corrections as the Director’s Secretary. From 1979-1989 she worked at the U.S. District Court, initially as Secretary to the Clerk and later assumed the duties of Operations Supervisor and Procurement Clerk. Louise enjoyed traveling in her motor home, fishing, gardening, working cross-word puzzles, and attending OU football games. However, her greatest joy was being with family and friends whom she always openly supported, loved unconditionally, and often shared her witty sense of humor. Louise is preceded in death by her late husband, Wallace Autery, her beloved companion, Kenneth Tayar, parents John and Emma Holmes, sisters Mildred Bradshaw and Elizabeth Franklin, and brothers, Evert and Kenneth David. She is survived by her children David and Barbara Autery, Debbie and Nat Bedolla, grandchildren Dallas and Rocio Autery, Kari and Rob Lane, Shaun and Niki Sims, Shelly and Tony Albrecht, Sheldon Sims, Greg and Chrissy Whatley, Chris and Troyce Whatley, Toma and Gabrial Bedolla, nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and the extended Tayar family. A memorial service will be held under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service,10am, Monday April 4, 2011 at Newcastle Christian Church, 2200 N Main St, Newcastle, OK.
