Louise McAllister, a lifelong resident of Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024. Born on April 6, 1949, in Meeker, Oklahoma, to Franklin Grant Lovell and Remona Vivine Thornton, Louise's life was defined by her deep love for her family and her cherished traditions.
A graduate of Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, Louise earned a bachelor's degree in science, marking the beginning of a journey marked by both personal and professional accomplishments.
On November 22, 1969, she married the love of her life, Gerald Gene McAllister, with whom she shared 54 years of unwavering devotion and companionship. Louise's perfect day was spent watching her beloved family members open each gift one by one on Christmas morning, a tradition that brought her immense joy throughout her life. She was a loving and dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, finding fulfillment in nurturing and caring for her loved ones.
Beyond her roles within her family, Louise was known for her culinary skills, often delighting her family with her holiday dinners, and for her talent in knitting and crocheting, creating cherished keepsakes for those she held dear. In the hearts of those who knew her, Louise will be remembered for her boundless love, her warm and welcoming nature, and her unwavering dedication to her family.
Louise is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Gene McAllister, her devoted children; Teresa Dawn Cunningham (Rick) of Choctaw, OK and Kimberly Dawn McAllister of Midwest City, OK, grandchildren; Matthew Cunningham and Keely Anderson (Chip), and great-granddaughter; Kaidence Clarke Anderson, and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A viewing for Louise will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. A funeral service will occur Monday, April 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Primrose Funeral Service.
