Marie Blocker

Helen Marie Ramsey Blocker was born December 6, 1932 in Foster, OK and her siblings were Wanda, Clarice, Mary and Lois. She married John Blocker on August 27, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas, and went on to raise 10 children together, while living at different times in Texas, California, Arizona and returning to Oklahoma in 1973.

Marie is preceded in death by her husband and her son, Paul.

She is survived by her 9 living children Jeff (CA), Josephine Glueck (NM), David (AZ), Lois Hunt (NM), Marian Venturini (PA), James (OK), John (MI), Thomas (OK), and Frank (FL). She left the world heartened by her 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, so far.

She died once before in 1989, but she didn't care for it and came back for more time with her family.

She was a natural-born teacher, a dark-haired beauty, avid researcher, and lover of children and flowers. The effects of her strong faith, patience and love continue on.

She unknowingly touched lives well beyond her always-increasing circle of family and friends. Marie lived in Norman, OK for many years following the death of her husband and frequently attended church and other activities at St. Joseph’s and St. Thomas More as her health would allow and her scooter would take her.

Marie passed away at St. Ann's Care Facility in OKC on September 30, 2020 and we will be buried at Foster Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 5, alongside her husband, "Johnny."
