Mary Lucille Burkett, 76 of Norman died Saturday, April 14 in Norman. She was born November 10, 1935, to Welsey Earl and Blanche Ann (Thompson) Millsap in Lexington, OK. Mrs. Burkett attended Lexington High School. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse working at Norman Regional Hospital for 37 years as labor/delivery nurse. Mrs. Burkett delivered her grandson at home. She was a member of Journey Church. Mrs. Burkett enjoyed playing with great-grandchildren and shopping.
Mrs. Burkett is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane Anderson and her husband, Scott of Norman; a son, William Burkett and his wife, Kim of Cumming, GA; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; 16 nieces and 12 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Sidney Franklin Burkett.
Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Primrose Chapel with Pastor Alan Sample officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
