

She was born on June 29, 1936, in Montebello, VA, and had been residing in Norman, OK.
She met Her steadfast husband in Montebello, as well. They were married 66 loving years, a commitment many strive for.
Maxine was a woman of many passions, including fishing with her beloved husband and children, camping, gardening (she spent many hours shucking corn, stewing tomatoes, snapping beans and canning her goods), crocheting, baking for many familys including her own and the local funeral home, cooking meals for everyone who came by, going to garage sales with her grandchildren, going to many church services and revivals. She had a beautiful voice and would often serenade her grandchildren and great grandchildren with sweet songs. Maxine was always holding the babies and feeding them goodies. She loved calling all of her children on the telephone and talking for hours about anything and everything.
Alongside her husband, Rev. Sherman Fitzgerald, Maxine was an avid preacher's wife and an active Sunday school teacher. She found great joy in sharing the word of God with others.
Maxine's proudest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was the loving mother of four children, 3 daughters and a son. Who she raised in the Lord with kindness and grace. Her love and care extended to her seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Being the most loving and heartfelt mother and grandmother she could be. Always with a soft touch and a kind word.
Maxine's defining personality traits were her sweet, innocent nature, her lovely presence, her vivid mind, great stories, kind spirit, And that amazing belly laugh when she thought something was funny.
She was always taking care of and teaching others, making sure they felt loved and supported. Maxine had a lasting impact on the lives of those she encountered and led by an exemplary example. She was always going out of her way to make sure the people she loved were cared for.
Through her involvement in the Pentecostal Holiness Church and her dedication to her community, family, and husband, she touched many hearts with the word of God and her unwavering faith. She dedicated many years to helping others and running the show from behind the scenes never seeking any recognition for any of the willful contributions she put forth.
Maxine Beulah Fitzgerald's legacy will be remembered for her selflessness, kindness, and deep love for her family and faith. She leaves behind cherished memories and a profound impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation for Maxine will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Heaven Bound Family Church, 1055 24th Ave SE, Norman, OK 73071.
