Michael Eugene Stewart, known as “Mike,” 64 of Washington, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Purcell Municipal Hospital. He was born February 13, 1954, in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Dewey Carlton and Martha Naomi Stewart. Mike graduated from Norman High School in 1973. He married Anita McCracken, his wife of 43 years on February 28, 1975, in Norman, Oklahoma.
He was a truck driver for Tyler & Simpson for 16 years. Following that, he had the opportunity to be the prop truck driver for the movie My Heros Have Always Been Cowboys and also made many props for the movie. He enjoyed many motorcycle rides, outings and adventures with a group of very close friends. He spent many weekends and summers building memories with his family at Lake Eufaula and recently Fort Gibson. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son. He was also very active with his children’s sporting and FFA events. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching football, especially his OU Sooners. Above all, he treasured time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memories are: his wife Anita, children Tracey (Chuck) Barnes, of Washington, Jeff (Julie) Stewart of Norman, Katie McGuire of Norman, grandchildren: Makayla and Keylee McGuire, Kiersten and Dakelin Stewart, Hannah, Abbigal and Camden Barnes; sisters Janie Dilks, Judy (Bill) Bray, sister in law Karin Stewart, Fred (Marlyn) Taleghanifard, mother in law Vivian Richardson, in laws Carlene ( Charles) Atkinson, Jan (Mike ) Griffin, Beverly Kirk, life-long friend Ricky ( Jeannie ) Barrett, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Stewart.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Primrose Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Primrose Funeral chapel. Pastor, and very close friend Gary Green will officiate.
