Me and michaela were very good friends in middle school and still hung out after high school was over. She was always a light of sun shine, beautiful soul and one amazing girl. I loved every minute of being able to be her friend and cherish every single memory we had. I love you always and pray for peace for your family and loved ones. You may be gone from us but you will never ever be forgotten ❤️❤️

We worked together for a short period of time, I absolutely loved working with her. She was funny, smart, spunky, and very protective of her work family. We will miss you so much Salinas. My heart breaks for your family and friends, and also Bailey.

Micaela started a couple of months after I did at LARC. She was always a breath of sunshine, funny, and made us laugh. She was an outstanding officer, and will be truely missed. See you on the other side. Praying for the family and friends during this time. RIP my friend.

My condolences on the passing of your daughter. Although I did not work directly with Michaela, I do work at the Department of Corrections and have a great respect for the men and women who serve in these positions. May you find comfort in the beautiful memories of your daughter and may those moments of joy replace the grief you are enduring now.

I didn't know Salinas long, but I loved working with her. She made working at LARC fun. I loved going to Unit 8 and talking about life at LARC. She was a good friend and she will be greatly missed. RIP Salinas.

Carpooling to work together jamming out being goofy. Having late night talks about our life. Going road trips to Texas. She was truly the greatest friend she always knew how to make me smile and laugh.

Remembering Michaela:

The moment Michaela became a part of your life, your life just became vastly more interesting.

In a word, she was the whirlwind; an unstoppable force of passion and love, and every other emotion in the spectrum.

Most of us will never experience life on Michaela’s level; she soared the greatest heights in the skies of joy and happiness, yet sometimes she dove into the deepest depths of sadness and sorrow.

One of Michaela’s most cherished qualities was her capacity for love, a type of love that was unbridled and “ALL IN”. Her kind of love was undeniable, unwavering, and absolute.

For all the beauty we all saw on the outside, this was just a glimpse of the vast beauty she had on the inside.

No amount of words can sum up our precious Michaela, but some easily come to mind:

She was genuine and unique

She was smart and sassy

She was funny and witty

She was complex and deep

She was fierce yet fragile

She was courageous and outrageous

She was adorable and sweet

And one word sings out amongst the rest…she was special, in every sense of the word. And she will be forever missed and remembered by those of us fortunate enough to have shared our lives with her.

Today we mourn her passing and also celebrate the gift of her life. Her love never ever failed us.
