
He was born on August 24, 1918, to Thomas David and Matilda Viola (Jarvis) Hunt in Trousdale, Okla. He attended school at Fox and Washington schools. Due to his father’s poor health, he helped maintain the family farm, raising cotton and broom corn.
He married Flora Mazelle Annesley on December 21, 1946 in Norman, Okla. They moved to Purcell where Orville sold Kaiszer Frasizer Cars. In January 1949, after moving to Norman, he began a lifelong career as owner and operator of Hunt Construction Company building homes. He also had the privilege of helping to build several churches and one Bible school in Lome, Togo, West Africa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora; his parents; three brothers, Herbert, Paul, and Silas; one sister, Ila Viola; two brothers and one sister who died at infancy.
He is survived by one daughter, Evanna Esadooah and her husband, Ken; two sons, Ronald Hunt and his wife, Patsy; Ralph Hunt and his wife, Elaina; one granddaughter, Shawnell Green and her husband, David; two grandsons, Bryan Hunt; Jeffry Hunt and his wife, Karen; four great-grandsons, Chanson and Mason Green, Jefferson and Jackson Hunt; one sister-in-law, Louise Jenkins and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at a formal visitation Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 18 at the Noble Assembly of God church with burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.
