He was born in Dallas, Texas on November 9, 1963 to Enrique and Trinidad Velasco who have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brother Enrique Velasco Jr. He is Survived by his brothers, Rudy, Justo, and Michael Velasco. One sister, Connie Sedeghi. Although, Rafael did not have any
children of his own, he was an amazing uncle to Enrique (Ricky) Velasco III, Christina Velasco, Justo Velasco Jr., Maxim , Helena & Xavier Sedeghi, and Rudy Velasco Jr. He leaves behind several great nieces and great nephews. He left them all with much love and fantastic funny memories. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws Dora Bjorlie, Ginger Velasco, Rebecca Velasco and his brother-in-law Ali Sedeghi.
Rafael worked for many years in the retail industry. First, at Toys r Us where he met his life long friends, Sara Jimenez and John Willis.These friendships spanned over 35 years. He finished his retail career with Big Lots in 2014. He enjoyed gardening , taking care of birds and was a great cook. His favorite music was Fleetwood Mac, so much so that anyone who knew him can not help but think of him when a Fleetwood Mac song comes over the radio.
Rafael was very strong in his faith, and had a sense of humor that was never ending. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him.
A memorial mass in Dallas, Texas will be announced at a later date.
