

Rick was born May 2, 1952 in Detroit, MI to Glenis and Martha (Maxwell) Jernigan. He married Cynthia “Cindy” Blair on July 3, 2003 in Norman.
Rick loved playing football and did so all through high school and received a scholarship to the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he broke both legs, it put a stop to his football career. He worked as a material handling mechanic for many years. He loved grizzly bears, traveling to the Sierra Mountains, Bristlecone Pines, Tennessee and Branson, going out to eat but above all he loved spending time with his family and dogs.
Survivors include his wife Cindy of 12 years; sons: Jesse Jernigan of Moore and Joe (Jessica) of Blanchard; step-children: Carrie (Brad) Kennedy of Friendship, WI, Thomas (Terisa) Blair of Norman, Jonathan (Amanda) Blair of Moore; grandchildren: Michael, David, Katlyn Jernigan, Camden Blair, Zoey and Max Jernigan; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Glenn Lionel Jernigan and Lanny Dwain Jernigan.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
