Roberta Mae Parish was born to Bert and Elva Hart on February 1, 1932 in Maud, Oklahoma. She made her heavenly journey on October 17, 2020.
Roberta was a 1950 graduate of Maud High School. In 1952 she graduated from Hills Business College. She also earned an Associate Degree from South Oklahoma City Junior College. She received her Real Estate License in 1973.
Roberta’s first job was as a soda jerk at a drug store in Maud. After moving to Oklahoma City, she worked as a secretary for Columbia Pictures on Film Row. While there she was excited to meet many movie stars that came thru. Roberta then was employed by Tinker AFB from 1954 thru 1965. In 1965 Roberta started her 30 year career at Moore Public Schools. Roberta served for 1 year as State President of Oklahoma School Foods Association. She retired in 1995 as Director of Child Nutrition.
Roberta was a fun loving woman who loved to joke and kid people. She was an expert seamstress and a talented artist. Roberta was a resident of Moore for 68 years. She had a strong faith in God and was a member of The First Baptist Church of Moore since 1951. She never backed down from a dare and she most always won any contest or drawing she was in. She loved attending OU football games with her husband John and was a great bowler. She most enjoyed spending time at their Lake Eufaula cabin with her family that she dearly loved.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Elva Hart; John, her beloved husband of 63 years; daughter-in-law Debbie Parish; and her grandson Jeremy Parish.
She is survived by her brother Bob (Earlene) Hart and sister-in-law Mary Neal; her daughter Kathy (Ron) Bahner, sons Mike (Becky) and Pat Parish; her grandchildren Kevin (Kristy) Bahner, Kelly (Brandon) Peterman, Alissa (Randy) Tymchuk, Nathan Parish, and Ryan Parish; by her nine great-grandchildren Kolby, Daxton, Jentrie, Tegan, Kaden, Kori, Blake, Brody, and Brett.
She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that she dearly loved.
The family was blessed to have Legend at Rivendell provide Roberta with loving and compassionate care. Also, a special thank you to family friend Diana Bewley for her loving help.
Viewing will be Monday and Tuesday October 26th and 27th from 8:00am until 8:00pm at Primrose Funeral Home 1109 N. Porter Ave. Norman, OK.
Services will be held Wednesday October 28th , 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Moore.
Internment will follow at Resthaven Cemetary.
