Russell Mark Hudgins

Russell was born August 2, 1962 in Philadelphia, PA to Carlton Sr. and Gertrude Hudgins. There he grew up and graduated from Roxbrough High School. Russell worked as an armed security guard for Guards Mark in California and Thunderbird and Riverwind Casinos in Oklahoma.

He moved to Oklahoma from Palm Springs, CA in 2001 with his partner.

Some of Russell’s interests were cooking (he attended Platt’s Culinary School in Moore), watching old movies, and listening to music. Russell was a very positive person.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Hudgins, Sr; and nephew, Dewayne Johnson.

Those who survive Russell are his mother, Gertrude; two sisters, Retha and Stephanie Hudgins; two brothers, Carlton Jr. and John (Rufus) Hudgins; three nephews, Mustafa, Corey and Khalil; one niece, Beashira; four aunts, Nevada Bowers, Ella Dokes, Francis Marcus and Dorthy Clark; one uncle, Charles Clark; and his partner of 15 years, Kelly Bauernschmitt and family, and a host of other family and friends.

Russell passed away from complications of Diabetes, so at the request of the family, donations can be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Association.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Monday at the Primrose Funeral Service Event Center.
