Russell Lee Marler, 58, of Norman passed away Saturday November 2, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born November 15, 1960 to Billy Clay Marler and Shirley Ann (Ferrell) Burnett. On March 23, 1985, he married Pam Martin in Norman.

Russ enjoyed drag racing, tinkering, traveling all around Oklahoma to see the sights and visit Lake Texoma and Lake Thunderbird. Above all he loved his family and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Pam of 34 years; sons: Jared Marler of Norman, Tyler (fiancé Sidney Bolen) Marler of Ada; granddaughter: Ava Bolen; mother: Shirley Burnett; sister: Shem and husband Joe Hamil of Norman; brother: Greg and wife Stormy Sam of Oklahoma City; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, step-mother, grandparents, and his father and mother in law.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Friday November 8, 2019 at Primrose Funeral Service Chapel, Norman, OK.

Russell is forever going to be missed. He's been in our family for 35 yrs. Not sure why he didn't run when he had the chance. But we were all so blessed that he didn't. He brought something that no one else could. Rest in Peace, you were a fantastic husband to Pam, great dad to Jared and Tyler and a loving grandfather to Ava. We will miss you.
