

Ruth Ray Fineberg was born on July 24, 1916, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Jacob Belgrad and Rose (Estrin) Belgrad. She grew up in Oakland, California, attending schools in Oakland and graduating from High School in Oakland. She then furthered her education at the Mills College in Oakland, California. Following her education she began working at the Bullock Department Store. She then moved to Chicago and began working for the Marshall Field Department Store. She later married Louis H. Bornoff and they continued to make their home in Chicago and numerous states. Following Louis’s death she moved back to Chicago and began working at Harbor Management as a residence manager. She later married Ed Altersohn and he preceded her in death and she continued to make Chicago her home. She later married Ed Fineberg and he preceded her in death and she moved to California to be near her daughter. In 2005 she and her daughter, Rise' moved to Oklahoma City. She enjoyed traveling, reading, going to casinos, and going on cruises especially to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean and she loved the Chicago Cubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and 1 sister.
She is survived by one daughter, Rise’ Stefani of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sons, Rick Bornoff and wife Rita of Oklahoma City, and Jack Bornoff and wife Denise of Studio City, California; four grandchildren, Melissa Stackenwalt and husband Sean of Coppell, Texas, Steven Bornoff and wife Faith of Largo, Florida; Jennifer Bornoff of Studio City, California; and David Bornoff of Oakland, California; and eight great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the Emmanuel Hebrew Cemetery in Oklahoma City, on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Rabbi Abby Jacobson officiating.
