Shawn, 
                My heart is heavy today as I decorate the shop for the Holidays. I think to myself, "How would Shawn do this?" You were really a master at decorating. I miss you so much.....Nicky

I grew up with Shawn being a huge part of my life and always considered her “one of the family”. She never had a bad day (at least she hid it well) and was always so happy to see me come in with my mother. I can’t say that we always saw eye-to-eye on hair cuts, but she always wanted to make sure I left happy. Shawn built her life around helping other people and making their day better. She was one of the hardiest working individuals that I ever met....she never slowed down. So many stories were shared at the “beauty shop” between her and mom. Shawn has left this World with a larger than life impression. 

Shawn was a staple of life growing up. A loved friend that you could always rely on. My grandmother had gone to her for as long as I can remember and I spent many many days in the salon to either get a cut, wait for Mema to get hers, or when older occasionally get a buzz so my hair was short for military events. Many things in life come and go, but Shawn and her salon were always things you could return to. In a year of hardship this is yet another that is felt by the many people who loved and cared for her. She is missed and many now have voids in their lives that will be felt for years to come. 

I have many memories of sitting in Shawn's salon, browsing the magazines in one of the chairs while her and Mema (Helen Floyd) chatted endlessly. However, my favorite recollection was a day I discovered a stuffed animal in the next door shop, and I came back to the salon, immediately asking Mema if I could get it. Without hesitation, Shawn gave me the money to go and buy it. With glee, I returned with the stuffed dog (named Goldie), and I remember the joy on Shawn's face to see that she had done something to make me smile. Goldie was my favorite stuffed animal for many many years, and looking back at it now, I love it for so much more than its cute appearance and soft exterior. It is a reminder of Shawn's generosity, her willingness to go the extra mile, and the genuine joy that she found in treating the people she loved. I hope I can be more like her in these regards, and I will remember her forever. 

I loved going into the shop growing up. My Mema ( Helen Floyd) would always take me with her. Shawn always was a happy face to see. She always made me feel at home. Shawn was a person you could never forget. 💕  Rest In Peace.

I have fond memories of mom and Shawn spending time together. mom would tell me “I’m going to Shawn’s”, I knew that meant she would spend a couple of hours with Shawn talking about everything like they were best friends. Shawn and Jae have been and will always be part of the Floyd family.

Sharing in all our sadness as we remember Shawn. No words can describe how sorry I am to hear about the passing of Shawn, a family friend, someone that’s filled my childhood memories into adulthood. Always present and an amazing person. 

Either coming into the salon to visit or holiday reunions, Shawn always greeted me with unconditional love and joy. I can’t think of a childhood memory where she wasn’t always present and cheerful. I will miss those moments. 

I am thankful to have shared those memories with her. I will miss her and the impact she left on me and our family. 

I hope to always celebrate the life Shawn lived, remembering the good times we’ve shared as a family. 

Dear Shawn, the joy you brought to our lives will not be forgotten.

Today I received news that our dear friend Shawn has made her journey to heaven, the sadness is bitter but the memories are abundant, as is our love for Shawn. 

Shawn, 
Thank you for all the years that you showed unconditional kindness and love for my mother, father and family, not one memory will  be forgotten. 
You are more than a friend, you and Lee are loved and became part of our extended family. Rest In Peace!!”

I will forever be grateful to Shawn and Jae for all the love and friendship they always showed mom, Helen Floyd and our family.  Shawn always had one of the biggest hearts of anyone I knew.  Her and mom had a very special bond that few experience in their lifetime.  Shawn was extremely talented and always tried to help others succeed in life. I witnessed countless times when Shawn would go above and beyond to make others feel special and help them feel confident in growing their own skills. That was always a priority for her. I know Mom and Shawn have continued their friendship in Heaven. We love you Shawn and will miss you.

Shawn, I am so heartbroken.  You are such a special, wonderful lady and like a mother to me.  I miss you so very much.  May God bless you and your family and may He hold you in His arms.  I will never forget you!  I will see you again, my dear friend and will always keep you in my heart.

Shawn was a gift to our family from God.  20 years ago she cooked Korean food for Nathan's 1st birthday by the barn, then two years later she celebrated with James for his 1st birthday - Koran fashion. The boys remember her as Grandma Lee and have some special memories. We are praying for Papa Lee! Robert and Elaine Rierson
