

Stanley, known as Stan, was born in Santa Monica, California on March 10, 1943 to Harry and Elsie Mae (nee Johnson). Stan was united in marriage to Sara Jane Kill on September 20, 1960 and celebrated 62 anniversaries. The 62nd anniversary was celebrated in Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean. Stan and Sara had 2 children, Tamara (Dave) Friedman and Scott (Rebecca). They have four grandchildren, David (Lindsey) Friedman, Alex Friedman, Delaney Branton, and Kyle Branton.
Stan is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Elsie.
Stan was an engineer at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis until retirement. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard in the 45th Infantry Division in the 120th Engineer Battalion. He spent 3 months in the Engineer Equipment School at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, then returned to Norman to attend the University of Oklahoma. Stan graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering.
Other than camping and skiing with his family, Stan was an avid Ham Radio operator making contracts all over the globe. He was a past member of the McDonnell-Douglas Amateur Radio Club in St. Louis. His call sign KBOHL is now a silent key.
A graveside chapel service for Stanley will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 East Indian Hills Road, Norman, OK 73071. Memorial donations can be made to the BJC Hospice of St. Louis, P.O. Box 790369, St. Louis, MO 63179-9917.
