Born in New York and raised in New Jersey, she moved to and settled in Norman for school at OU after seeing the Bizzel Library. Its sight sang to her as education was her love and career.
She achieved a Master's Degree in Education and taught at the local business and community colleges for decades.
She firmly believed in the importance of both family and education and lived her life showing it: as member of the McFarlin Methodist Church, in the late 90s/early 00s she volunteered in the Sunday nursery; as a member of the OKC Zoo, she loved taking her grandchildren to visit (and hot weather never stopped her); and finally as both an enthusiastic visitor to and occasional volunteer at the Sam Noble Museum Discovery Room.
Beloved mother and grandmother, she leaves behind a sister, Ernie; 4 children: Denise, Michelle, Skye and Starr; and 4 grandchildren: Gavin, Maddox, Will and Aria.
Celebration of life and memorial service will be held Monday, August 24th at 11am at the McFarlin Methodist Church.
