Tabitha Genava Garneau, 34, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on February 13th, 2021. Tabitha was a loving mother of three young children. She was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She entered the world on August 5th, 1986 to proud parents Leo Garneau and Terri (Sinks) Garneau in Denver, Colorado. Tabitha graduated from high school in Grand Junction, Colorado, and worked as a certified dental assistant in Norman and Oklahoma City. She attended Victory Church in Oklahoma City with her children.
Tabitha enjoyed going to museums and zoos and going on road trips, but she was happiest being outside in nature. She loved camping, hiking, and she was an avid fisherwoman; only particularly bad weather deterred her from loading up the fishing poles, kids, and dog to head out to her favorite fishing spots at local lakes. It was important to Tabitha to teach her children to love nature, to have appreciation for all of God's beautiful creations, and how to navigate the world around them.
She loved animals and went above and beyond to save them if they were in danger. She was kind and thoughtful and would do what she could to help anyone around her who was in need. She was a very animated and amusing story teller. She was tiny but brave, never afraid to stand up for what she thought was right and never afraid to march to the beat of her own drummer. She faced many obstacles and challenges in life but she was never lacking in determination and perseverance in spite of them. She loved being with her kids and her partner Troy Sumner, her “hearts.” She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh that will be missed by all, and her adventurous spirit will live on in those who loved her.
Tabitha is survived by her children Jaslene 12, Lydia 8, and Giovanni 3; her partner Troy Sumner; her parents Terri & Eric Kirtley and Leo & Carol Garneau; sisters Jennifer Sinks, Jackie Wood (Gerald), Savannah Benz, and brother Shaun Kirtley (Ashley); and grandparents Bayless and Judy Kirtley. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, many friends, and her dog Mila. She is preceded in death by grandparents Joe and Pauline Garneau and Harley and Geneva Sinks and an uncle, Greg Sinks.
