Tajwana Kathleen Lyon, 85, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025. She was born in Norman on November 6, 1939, to Robert Lee Breedlove and Lillian Victory (Bruesch) Breedlove.
On February 21, 1958, Tajwana married the love of her life, Dan Lee Lyon. Together they shared a beautiful life filled with devotion, hard work, and unconditional love. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the steady, nurturing heart of her family.
Tajwana was known for her kindness, her selfless nature, and her unwavering devotion to her loved ones. She never spoke an ill word of anyone and was always quick to offer a warm smile, gentle encouragement, or quiet support. She often said, “Oh dear,” with a softness that comforted those around her. She was the best mom ever!
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures; camping at Lake Texoma, family vacations to Colorado and Eureka Springs, working in her garden, and sitting peacefully on her front porch watching birds, squirrels, and neighbors pass by. Her role as a homemaker was one she cherished deeply. From the age of 14, when she began helping care for her younger siblings, to the years spent raising her children and grandson, Tajwana poured her heart into caring for others.
Her family was her greatest joy. She was the proud and loving mother of Keith Lyon and his wife Shanna, and Judy Lyon Shaver and her husband Larry. She was a beloved grandmother to Taylor Lyon and great-grandmother to Hayden Lyon, who will always treasure the memories made with her great-grandma and great-grandpa. Tajwana was the quiet strength behind her family, a guiding light and a steady hand, always there when needed, and never asking for anything in return. She listened without judgment and offered advice only when asked, always with love.
Tajwana is survived by her son, Keith Lyon and his wife Shanna; her daughter, Judy (Lyon) Shaver; her grandson, Taylor Lyon; and her great-granddaughter, Hayden Lyon. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Breedlove and his wife Deborah; her sisters, Norma Frisby and her husband Wayne, and Toni Peery and her husband Charlie. She leaves behind her special nephew, Kevin Peery and his wife Crystal; her special niece, Stephanie Peery; and her great-nephew, Emilio Cervantes, along with many other beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Lyon; her parents, Robert and Lillian Breedlove; her siblings, Joe Neal Breedlove and Geraldine Cossey; her son-in-law, Larry Shaver; and other dear family members including Bud and Aggie Lyon, Dusty and Jimmie Phyllis Chambless.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18th, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Primrose Funeral Service in Norman. A service celebrating her life will follow at 2:00 p.m.
Tajwana will be remembered always for her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the quiet strength that made her the heart of her family. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
