August 29, 1943 – April 28, 2021
Vickie Lynn Woodrow DeMik passed away during a brief stay at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma on April 28, 2021.
Vickie was born August 29, 1943 in Norman, to Wilmer F. Woodrow and Helen Driskill Woodrow (Armstrong), both deceased. She attended Wilson Elementary School, Central Junior High and was a 1961 graduate of Norman High. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1965. It was at OU that Vickie met her husband Jim DeMik, with whom she spent 54 wonderful years of marriage.
Vickie and Jim lived in Dallas for more than 40 years, where they raised their two children and ran multiple businesses. Vickie, along with her business partner Ray Stidham, owned a Dallas-based advertising agency and publishing company for more than 30 years. Vickie also dealt in art and antiques and operated a high-end custom furniture store in North Dallas. She loved to shop at flea markets, paint, play word games and dine-out. Mostly, she will be remembered for entertaining her many friends and family in her beautiful home with wonderful food, drink, stories and her wicked sense of humor. Vickie was a dynamic, fun-loving center of the family and will be dearly missed.
Vickie is survived by her children, Anna DeMik Little and son-in-law Adam Little of Norman and Dr. Travis DeMik of San Diego; sister Jami Fullerton of Tulsa, sister-in-law Elisabeth Howell of Norman and nieces Juli Patterson Stiffler, Dawn Duffey and Helen Fullerton. Vickie was preceded in death by her infant son, husband, James W. DeMik, her sister Willa Woodrow Patterson, and brother Bryce Woodrow.
