Vickie Carmen Ryan “Vee” was born September 28, 1960 in Oklahoma City. She was the tenth of twelve children born to Rudolph Everett Ryan Sr. and Paulyne Davidson. She avowed her love for Christ at an early age.
As a young adult, she was a mentor to several children in her community and encouraged them to become followers of God. Vee’s eagerness to witness to others lead her to provide transportation to those in need.
Vickie received her elementary education at Little Axe Schools, and graduated from Bethel High School in 1978. She continued her collegiate education at Langston University, graduated in 1982 with a degree in Criminal Justice. While attending Langston, she was an active member of the Alpha Zeta chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, an Alpha Angel, and a proud member of the Langston University Marching Pride Band.
Her most precious accomplishments were the births of her children.
Shortly after graduating, Vee worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Corrections. First as a prison guard, then later became a councilor. In 1983 Vickie enlisted in United States Army as a finance
specialist. During her military career she had the honor of serving her country in various duty stations, such as Ft. Jackson, SC; Ft. Bragg, NC, and Germany.
While serving Vee was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Sharpshooter Badge with M16 Rifle Bar. Following her honorable discharge from the military, Vee began her career as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, and clients with developmental disabilities.
After experiencing health problems Vickie became an Entrepreneur, which allowed her to work from home. In 2019 she went to work in the Game Industry at Riverwind Casino. She enjoyed her job and developed many relationships during her time there.
Vickie had several hobbies. Just to name a few: volunteering with the Boys Scouts of America, gardening, traveling, braiding hair, the family historian, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.
