Wallace Otis Reed, a faithful servant of the Lord and resident of Norman Oklahoma, passed through this present life on Wednesday December 18th 2019 to await the trumpet sound to be raised incorruptible.
Wallace was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 28, 1938, the youngest of 4 children, to Rosa Lee Reed and Willie Henry Reed. He dedicated himself to the study of God’s word, his ministry at the Bread of Life Church and to raising his family. While he had a full military career of 28 year in the Air Force, he experienced a new birth in Christ Jesus in the early 1980s, wherein his life took a dramatic transformation. His focus hence forth was to the study of God’s word, and on seeking FIRST the Kingdom of God.
Wallace O. Reed is survived by his wife Olivia Reed of Norman, Oklahoma, his sister Helen (Samuel) Hosey of Fayetteville, Georgia; his daughter Faith Reed, his son Wallace Reed III, his son Isaac Reed, his daughter Grace Reed, his daughter Beacon Reed, his son Joseph Reed and his son Jacob Reed all of Norman, Oklahoma, his daughter Mandy Johnson of Riverview, Florida, his son Anthony Reed of Rocklin, California, his son Wallace Reed II of Albemarle, North Carolina, 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his former wife (the late) Joan Reed and his daughter (the late) Selena Livingston.
He was steadfast, un-moveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, and he trusted fully that his labor was not in vain. Brother Reed, as many called him, loved his family, loved the brethren and loved his work. All conversations with him would usually take a slow turn toward salvation….”Do you know the keys to the Kingdom?” he would ask. With his interest in knowing your relational status with God, he would then begin his fellowship with you, which could last minutes but mostly lasted hours. He understood well that his time on earth was a vapor and thus recognized the need to redeem time, share his love, share his light and sprinkle his salt.
