

Bill was born on March 13, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Walter and Mary Shallcross. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Captain. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to public service through a distinguished career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation until his retirement. He also earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma, a testament to his commitment to learning and service.
On a beautiful beginning that would span nearly six decades, Bill married the love of his life, Gloria Schoemann. Together, they shared 58 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Their journey took them from Norman, Oklahoma, to Arlington, Texas, then to Chicago, Illinois, before ultimately returning home to Norman.
Bill found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved reading, hunting, guns, and spending time outdoors, but above all, he cherished the moments spent with his family, who were the center of his world.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Shallcross, of the home; his children, Matthew Shallcross; Kim Sanders and her husband, Vic, of Piedmont, Oklahoma; and Tim Suchy and his wife, Nancy, of Wanette, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his siblings, Walter Shallcross of New Jersey, Bruce Shallcross of Massachusetts, and Lynn Diesel and her husband, Dennis, of New York; his grandchildren, Marigold Shallcross, Donna Gibson, Christian Fleming, and Aaron Suchy; two great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Bill will be remembered for his service, his strength, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Primrose Funeral Service, 3901 N Flood Ave., Norman, OK 73069, US, on April 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
