I never realized how much your handwriting was identical to your father’s.  
Dad has not ever been one to wear his feelings on his shoulders.  He must have spent hours finding the right words, planning the setting.  You truly live through all who knew and loved you! 
We may not be able to see you, hear you, or touch you, but we feel your presence in all we say and do.

If you were here, we would tease you about days gone by.
We’d laugh and talk for hours, play cards, maybe watch a football game or two.
If you were here, when the day comes to an end, I’d hug you tight...wishing all your dreams come true.
If you were only here...

July 6,2016 time stood still.  God’s plan for you changed.  He took you home to be with Him.
Leaving us somehow to face life without you.

With you not here, I will hold your photo album close, read your last texts, play your last voice mails.
I will whisper Happy Birthday Zack.

Zack’s first birthday after eating his first piece of chocolate pie.  

Zackary’s first smile and what a beautiful smile it was.  Zack kept that millionaire smile throughput his life.  
We bought this little outfit before he was born, embroidered on it-Class of 2000.  Zack went to Heavener Schools through kindergarten to the day he graduated in 2000 along with all his childhood friends.  

4 years today, you left this world for a better place... for peace. Although you are missed everyday, I know you are at rest. Mom and Dad really take care of your final resting place. It is gorgeous. I know you love the view.  You are all around me everyday in all my journeys. I need to ask you a favor or two. Please keep an eye on Brocke while he is over seas and in harms way. Keep him safe if you can. Blow your spirit into Brooke, she needs a guiding hand. And if it isn’t too much trouble look for all my puppies I’ve lost along the way, Babo, Nana, Diamond, Pippi, Half Pint, Skeeter, and others. They will give you much loving and loyalty. I miss you so much. I wish you could be here to see Brocke and Brooke. Brocke is so much like you. Thank you for being present in my life  ~~after death. I love you!! Love Sis!!

A Father’s Day Card from Heaven 

I sat and talked with God today,
Again, I told him about the Greatest man I know.  
I told him about you, Dad.
God said your Dad has been through a lot these past few years.  Now that you have your wings, you must find a way to comfort him.

Dad, I can’t be there with you as you want, but know I am always close by.  
You have struggled so much the past four years, I hope by sharing my life in Heaven will ease your pain and give you peace.
So Dad, here’s my gift to you...
I was taking Cisco and little Jeter for a walk when I spotted a man. He was sitting by the river with his white dog beside him.  As I came closer, I thought he looked familiar, then I realized it was Papaw!  He seemed so sad.  As I was about to join him, the doors of Heaven opened. He stood up and turned.  I could tell he had done this many times before, waiting and waiting... But this time was different.  He turned and said, “Come on Dukus, she’s here!” I watched as Gran ran into Papaw’s arms and they kissed over and over.  I slowly turned, hoping not to disturb them, when I heard them say.  “Zack is that you?  We have a message for you!”  Gran hugged my neck and Papaw shook my hands.  They said, “Your Dad and Mom miss you and love you so very much, they asked us to hug you tight and take care of you til they get here.” 
My eyes filled with tears as I sat down and told them about the Greatest man I know.  
I told them about you Dad, I told them about their son.

Mother’s Day Card from Heaven

As I write this, some may ask why you, Mom, do this?  But those that knew me would never question.  With all my love, I write these words through you.

I once told you, I would never let a Mother’s Day go by without telling you how much I love you.  Even though my time on earth has passed, I will always find a way, Mom, to wish you Happy Mother’s Day.
The rainbow, the double rainbow, that you saw this month, I painted just for you!  The rain coming down from a clear blue sky, 
is me—wishing I could be there. 
Mom, you don’t have to go far to see me, as I live through Dad with his keen sense of humor, Ginger with her infectious smile, Brad with his awesome hugs, Colby with his intellect and writing skills, Brocke with his sense to always call, Brooke with her laughter and good looks, August with his love to play games and enjoy movies, Kamden with his love for baseball, Ethan with his athletic abilities, and Grayson with his sweet and loving nature.

It will be 3 years the 6th of July that he left this world.  We will always remember and never forget him...
We miss him soo very much.  As difficult as life is without him here with us, we are blessed with wonderful memories of him, just like the one you shared!  
He lives through all that loved and knew him.
If he were here, he’d be humbled and thankful.  I can see that special smile of his now...

Thank you for sharing that with me and thank you for sharing the memorial of Zack. As a father I cannot even begin to imagine the pain and heartache that you must feel daily, but I mourn with you. I'm a grieving mother who lost my son, Zack two years ago.  He was only 34 years old. For some reason, I'm compelled to tell you this story.  Since the death of our son, we have received so many signs that he is near.  Some people may say it's just coincidental, but we'll never know until it's our turn to leave this world.  I hope you see and understand why I'm sharing this with you as you read on.  
We had been talking about buying a new vehicle but had put it off as nothing really seemed important any more.  But one day we were eating at one of Zack's favorite Chinese restaurants.  As usual, after dinner we all began opening the fortune cookies.  Having read many in my lifetime usually with the same ole saying, this one was different.  My eyes filled with tears as I knew Zack must be near.  The fortune read in bold red letters, BUY THE RED CAR.  Was it a coincidence, or maybe not??
In a small way, you and Amin are now part of our son's after life journey.  He lives through all that knew and loved him.  
This red car is in remembrance of our son, Zackary Daniel Addison.
I am sending you his site so if you choose you may know our son and how much he is missed and loved.
We wish you and Amin a Merry Christmas.

Oh my gosh!!  There are so many beautifully decorated homes in the neighborhood!  When we decided to decorate this year, it wasn’t to be nominated, but to heal and honor our son.
Our life’s we’re changed forever on July 6, 2016 when we lost, our son, Zack.  As our hearts are forever broken, we are slowly learning to smile again, to laugh again, to celebrate holidays again.  With every breath we take, with every heartbeat we beat, we will always remember our son—As he lives through all that knew and loved him.
Zack loved our home, our community, and our country, we know he must be smiling down on us.

Wish Upon A Star

37 years ago on October 28, 1981, a star was born, we named him,
 Zackary Daniel Addison.

While Zack’s  34 years with us was too brief, we cling to the times that we laughed, we loved, and we cried together.
God’s plan changed for him and all those that loved him.
He placed Zack in the Heavenly skies, our star that will shine bright as he watches over us.  Each day he fills our hearts with his love, laughter, and memories of days gone by.

Zack, tonight your Dad and I will gaze at the Heavenly skies and wish upon a star.  We will wish that the angels sing, the trumpets sound, and the stars dance as you gather with all your friends and loved ones that went before to celebrate your 37th birthday.  We will wish that you feel our earthly arms around you and hear us say how much we love you and miss you.

I close my eyes and see a little boy running home from school so excited to show me what he made.  He shuffled through his Ninja Turtles backpack and smiles as he gives me the Mother’s Day card that he made.  Proudly, I scoop him up and hug him and tell him how beautiful it is!  He hugs me back.  As he runs to play, he turns and says Happy Mother’s Day, Momma! I love you!
Not wanting to open my eyes, I quietly said I love you too Zack!

A Letter to Heaven

Dearest Zack,

They tell me a year has come and gone since your passing.

As birthdays, holidays, and special occasions came and went, your Dad and I struggled learning how to celebrate these times without you here.  I sift through all the memories left behind-- from the Mothers Day card that had your handprint made in grade school to the Mothers Day letter you wrote just a few years ago.  Photos of such a beautiful baby boy that grew to be a happy, cute child, and into a handsome young man with a million-dollar smile, I smile as I replay all the good times we had together.

Remember all the times you would fall?  Id pick you up and wipe away the tears.  I would hold you close and assure you that it would be okay  and then, that smile of yours would surface and off you would go again.  If only I could have been there that July day!  To comfort you, wipe away the tears and tell you everything would be okay.  I wonder would you still be with us now???

My dear Zack, I do trust and believe on July 6, 2016 at 9:03 p.m., God, our Father in Heaven, sent his Angels to pick you up.  The Angels wiped away your tears and told you Its going to be okay, God has a new home for you in Heaven where theres no more pain, no more sorrow.  I imagine that smile of yours surfaced as the Angels swept you away

Zack, your Dad and I will meet you at the river when our work here on earth is done.

Dear Donna and Mike.. I have come back to Zack's guest book several times this past year. It's still unbelievable Zack is no longer with us... I have seen his beautiful tribute (grave site) Brad posted it on Fb and I was so touched by it, you guys did a wonderful job..

Our Dearest Zack,
As your 35th birthday nears, we're reminded of the day you were born.  With tears of joy, we welcomed a beautiful baby boy to our family.  As the years rolled by, we celebrated your birthday traditionally, from skating and slumber parties, to dinner at Outback, and a piece of chocolate pie.  Our favorite memories were watching you smile and laugh and when the day came to an end, that warm embrace of gratitude you never failed to give.
God's plan for you and us has changed and we are forced to celebrate your birthdays without you here.  We know you wouldn't want us to be sad, and you would say, Mom and Dad, don't weep, it's ok.  I'm right here waiting for you.   As tears of sorrow may fall like pouring rain, we will sit by your gravesite and find that we can smile and laugh as we share stories of days gone by, light a candle, and release 35 balloons with a special memory attached in the hopes you catch one.  
Zack, as you continue to live through the memories you left behind, a gift was given to you.  Your friends and fans selected you as one of Heavener greatest football players as articled in the Heavener Ledger.  Knowing how honored and grateful you would be if you were here, you would give all the credit to your teammates and coaches. You knew with excellent teamwork, the willingness to go the extra mile, and strong family and community support, the key to success was possible.  And that is just what you and the 1999-2000 Heavener Wolves accomplished!    We are so blessed to have had so many wonderful memories and mementos of you and the sports you participated in!

I didn't personally know Zack, but I know how much he is loved. I can remember Mike telling me stories about all of your children, and seeing all of their photos in the office. It was and is clear how close of a family you are. 

My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you, and I pray God surrounds your family during this time.

Dear Mike and Donna Addison: My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. I wished I could have been able to meet Zack. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers daily.

Zack had a sparkle in his eye and a mischief of a smile. He had a laugh you wanted to hear. He was a spontaneous, vibrant, and compassionate person who will be dearly missed.

My memories of Zack started with that little boy smiling up at me as I came in to take pictures on their first day of school.  I can still see him with that big ole smile, bouncing on those tip toes as he walked into the room as a young man.  We shared some good memories and he will be missed.  Hugs and prayers to you,  Mike, Donna, Ginger, Brad, Colby and the rest of the Addison family.

Donna, it is so hard to just think about this . He will be missed by so many.  All of Lish's school days are filled with thoughts of Zack and pictures of Zack. He was always so sweet and kind. My prayers are with you and the family.

Zack had the best smile and he wore it all of the time! Praying that God's peace and his presence will be felt by you all. Praying for strength and for every wonderful memory of him to fill your hearts. Love and hugs to you all.

To a brother that I admire very much for his heart and his compassion toward our fellow brother.  In the short time that I was with him at the VA, and I know in my heart that God is with him.

We are so saddened and so sorry ya'll are having to go through this devastating heartache.  We loved and love Zack so very much....like one of our own.  He gave us such great memories throughout all his years.  We will forever treasure them and forever miss him.  Praying Gods presence gives you the comfort, strength, and courage you each need to go through each minute, each hour, each day.  Rest in peace, Zack.

I work at the VA and was heartbroken when I heard of Zach's passing.  I fondly remember his gentleness and kindness, so evident.  One night as I stayed late to avoid driving home in weather warnings, Zach helped me to find a unit with a television to keep track of when it was safe to leave to drive home.  So sweet and tender of a young man.   May peace and the Lords heart hold you all.

Everyone loved you Zack ,if they knew you, they loved you.  In Heaven for sure you have been so welcomed! I feel so sorry for your parents and family on Earth, but you will continue to keep their hearts warm with the many memories you have left for them! R I P Zack!

Deeply saddened to hear the loss of Zack. I had the pleasure of knowing Zack and his beautiful wife Angelina in Vegas a few years ago. Zack was very smart, kind, happy and outgoing. Loving and kind not only to Angelina but to everyone around him. He was always laughing and joking around. Thank you for all the fun memories, I will treasure all the great times we all shared. Rest in peace friend.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'll miss seeing his smile.  He was so polite and nice. He always cared how my day was going when I would see him.

Zack was such a sweet and competitive young man with a million dollar smile. My heart goes out to the entire family, there are no words that can express how broken hearted I feel over your loss and also to all that knew Zack.

So sorry for your family's loss.  Donna, while we have lost touch and I have not had the pleasure of meeting your family, it is heartbreaking to learn of this tragedy.  No parent should ever have to experience this pain.  Our prayers are with you and your family.

Losing someone is never easy. Zack was a great guy and will always remain that way. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers during these challenging times.

Our Father in Heaven,please help us to understand and recognize that death marks the beginning, and not the end and is a solemn, decisive step in our journey to God. We pull up anchor and set sail, and our earthly life closes with the twilight only to open with the dawn to life eternal in a permanent home called Heaven. Sail on Zack, sail on..... Jesus has calmed the stormy sea forevermore.

So sorry to hear about Zack. I pray for God's arms to wrap you in love and give you all peace so you can only think good thoughts about him. Love you guys

Donna and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your son.  While I did not know him, I have no doubt he was a wonderful son and good friend to those who knew him. I have ran into Zack a couple times since high school. Every time I did it was like nothing changed he always asked how my parents and brothers were doing and how I have been. He was very genuine. He still woukd give me a hard time. Once I had lost my voice I seen him at the VA, i didn't see him he came up and nudged me jokingly saying, "I see how you are ignoring me." He had a smirk of course, I tried saying something and of course he says " man you sound horrible, I just can't talk to you when your like that." He started laughing and I slapped him. It didn't matter how long it had been since we seen each other he was the same Zack. Now going to the VA will not be the same, I won't be able to see my friend. I'll see you again Zack save a spot for me up there.

So sorry to hear about Zack. I will always remember his smile and kind heart. You all will be in my prayers.

I am very sorry to hear about Zack. He and I met at the VA and we shared many things in common, which is why we got along so well. But Zack could get along with anybody. He was very kind and generous, always wearing a smile and sharing his friendship with everyone. I am glad that I got to know him, but am sad to hear about this tragedy. Zack was a great man a great sailor and a great friend, I had the honor and the privilege of serving with him in the U.S Navy and will always remember him for his positive attitude towards life and his exceptional sense of friendship. I'm sure God has a special place reserved for him by his side.
