Christo Sathe R. D. James

“Sathe”, as he was affectionately known, was born in Ootacamund, India. Trained as a Phys. Ed. teacher, he was very athletic and loved to play a variety of sports. He loved music, a Tim Horton’s (well appointed) coffee with exactly 1 ½ cream, playing bridge, driving, family and social gatherings. He was extremely generous and caring. He is remembered by many with fond memories of his loving kindness and sense of humour.

Sathe is lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Florence; children Ranji (Glenn Hamilton) James of North Battleford, SK; Arun (Carol) James and daughter Nina all of Virginia; Prithvi (Sandra Li-James) James and children Christopher, Natasha and Ethan all of Toronto, ON; Renu (Rick Ruddell) James of Regina, SK; and Rabin (Myrina) Rutten-James and children Ella and Amelia all of Regina, SK; brothers Leo (Teckla) James, Rajar (Elaine) James and Babu (Lucy) James; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Daniel and Nallamma James, brother Baleu James and sister Kasturi Powell.

Funeral Service was held Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at St. Paul's Anglican Church with Reverend Peter Norman officiating. Cremation took place following the service. In lieu of flowers, Sathe's family asks that donations in his memory be directed to 'Northwest Professional Services' to support BTC Sports & Recreation and the Indian Summer Games, PO Box 1300, North Battleford, SK S9A 3L8.
