August 12th, 1956 – July 14th, 2019
Daniel Edward Keller was born on August 12, 1956 in Wilkie, SK. Danny grew up on the family farm outside Wilkie, until he moved into Wilkie, where he worked at a local garage. He moved to North Battleford in the late 1980s and resided there for the next thirty years.
Danny was mechanically inclined and so, throughout his life, he worked at a variety of jobs involving motors and mechanics. For example, he drove water truck and heavy equipment, fixed equipment and most recently, drove bus for North Battleford Transit. But Danny will be most remembered for his huge heart and generous nature. Danny was very good at figuring out problems and fixing them, so he was often called upon to do repairs for family and friends, which he did without expecting anything in return. He had a soft spot for animals, especially his dogs Sasha and Lady. As his daughters recall, he often brought home and cared for stray cats and put out food for them during the cold, winter months. Danny was also very solicitous and went out of his way to accommodate the requests of the elderly clients he worked with and drove for the transit company.
Although Danny was shy in crowds or when meeting new people, he had a great sense of humour and was easy to joke around with and tease. He loved fishing, playing cards and spending time with family. He particularly loved spending time with his grandchildren, Gabriel and Eliezar, and was a supportive father to his daughters Kristen and Stacey. As several of Danny’s siblings remarked, he was one of the best brothers one could hope for. He will be greatly missed by all.
Danny is survived by his daughters Kristen (Tyrone) & Stacey (Joseph) Perry & their children Gabriel & Eliezar, his mother Anne, siblings Glenn (Nancy), Roy (Janice), Wanda, Terry, Gary, Lucille (Alan), Sharon Anderson, Wayne (Chris), Allan (Sylvia) and Tracey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews & friends. Danny is predeceased by his father John Keller.
