It is with great sadness we recently heard of Lucy’s passing. She was a colleague and friend for many years. She not only had inner strength but she demonstrated this in everything she did.  She was a very socially conscious person. She enjoyed being a teacher and helping challenging children. I remember one year she was teaching a grade two class that she had difficulty with because she said they were too complacent. She liked when the children challenged her. She had a great deal of knowledge especially in the area of literacy. It was through her guidance I became a better teacher. We would like to extend our condolences to Lucy’s family. Lucy worked in schools I supervised. She was a very dedicated and strong educator.  She was well respected by students and colleagues.  My condolences to her immediate family.

I had the opportunity to teach and work with Lucy in education since the mid 60's. She was passionate about the profession and deeply devoted to her students in the classroom. A life long learner who excelled in everything that she took on.  Lucy did things to perfection.

I remember Lucy fondly from Btec where she spent many hours volunteering , bringing joy to many of our individuals. 

In many ways Lucy was an Angel here on earth. She donated time, and resources to many organizations to try and improve life for others. When my daughter was young, she struggled terribly in school, Lucy stepped in and spent countless hours tutoring Kaylee, and gave her the greatest gift of teaching her to believe in herself. Lucy was probably one of the most stubborn people I have ever met, but it served her well. No matter what life threw at her she would choose to smile and laugh, saying “what good would it do to complain “ Thank you for coming into our lives Lucy. Fly high, free of pain.
