Frank was born on February 22, 1915, in Tramping Lake, SK. He married Mary Anna Schmidt on November 4, 1941. After serving in the army, Frank farmed with his brother, Tony, and later operated a general store for 18 years in Revenue, SK. Frank and Mary sold the business in 1966 and moved to North Battleford, where Frank worked for the Separate School Division as a caretaker and groundskeeper for over 30 years. Frank enjoyed the outdoors and spent countless hours tending to his yard and large vegetable garden. One of his greatest joys in life was music. He sang with various groups, such as the church choir, the German choir and the Barbershop Quartet. Over the years, Frank maintained a positive outlook on life and always found a way to inject humour into any situation. His devotion to his family, his wisdom, determination, strong faith and work ethic are qualities that will continue to inspire us. He will be sadly missed.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the River Heights Lodge staff for providing quality care for Frank and for treating him with kindness, dignity and respect. A special, heartfelt thank you is also extended to niece, Denise Schmidt, who was always there for Frank, even in his final hours.
