

Larry was born in Denholm, SK on September 17 1921. He completed grade 12 in Denholm, and then went on to serve in the Army & RCAF during the 2nd World War. He married Marion (Betty) McKerchar in 1948. Larry graduated from The Saskatchewan Hospital as a CPN in 1950. He also worked for the CNR from the early 1950's to the early 1960's, after that he went back to work at the Saskatchewan Hospital for a few years. In the mid 1960s Larry went into the retail paint and flooring business in North Battleford, and then later on in Prince Albert where he got involved in other businesses until he retired in 1987. He moved back to North Battleford in 1989. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing cards and visiting people.
Larry is lovingly remembered by his daughters: Lois Perry – son Daxus Benjamin of North Battleford, SK; Kerri Thompson – daughter Arianna of North Battleford, SK; son Doug (Natalie) Thompson – sons Lawry and Mark of Calgary, AB; sister Gladys Meddins of Calgary, AB; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Marion “Betty”; brothers Gordon and Bill; sisters Jean, Gwen “Birdie”, Dorothy, Norma, and Marion; nephew Clair; nieces Joyce and Laurie.
A Celebration of Larry’s life was held on Wednesday, June 29 from Chapel of Sallows and McDonald Funeral Home with Reverend Fred Tinio officiating. The family have requested that donations in Larry’s memory be made to The Alzheimer’s Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kristeen Nylander of Wilson & Zehner Funeral Home, North Battleford. 445-6886
