Mary Elizabeth Louise Smith

SMITH - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Smith, late of North Battleford on May 8, 2011 at the age of 79 years. Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Walter (Hilda) Loch and their family: Heather Loch (Steve), Chada, David and Drake of Prince, SK; Charmaine Loch (Daryl), Karlie, Jordan and Jorgia of Battleford; Holly Loch of North Battleford; son Keith (Sharlene) Loch and their family: Mitchell Loch and Cowen of North Battleford; Codie Loch of North Battleford; sister Patricia (Bernie) LeBlanc of Watrous, SK; aunt Winnie Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her husbands Walter Loch and Jack Smith; parents Alberta and Robert Loscombe; and brothers Jim and Gerry Loscombe.

The memorial service was held on Friday, May 13, 2011 from the Chapel of Wilson and Zehner Funeral Home with Reverend Peter Norman officiating. Memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Mary’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Johnson, Dr. M.C. Khurana, Dr. Waynard Vandermerwe, Dr. Mehboob, the medical staff at St. Paul’s Hospital, and all of the BUH nursing staff that participated in her care.

Walter and Keith would also like to thank Aunt Winnie and their wives Hilda and Sharlene for their care. They were able to fulfill Mary’s wish of living out her final days at home. Without their loving care and support, this would not have been possible.
