A wake for Rosa will be held Saturday, August 4, 2024 at Poundmaker Veterans Hall, Poundmaker First Nation, SK. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Poundmaker Veterans Hall.
Survived by: her children Selina Checkosis, Clarence Checkosis, Lorne (Regan) Checkosis, Willis Checkosis, Raylene (Eldon) Checkosis, Patrick (Rita) Bonaise, Christopher Bonaise; adopted children: Daniel Shingoose and Sandra Naistus; special nieces Lynda Tootoosis and Germaine Hill.
Predeceased by: parents Elsie Checkosis (nee) Kennedy and Patrick Yellowmud; sisters Caroline (Charles) Checkosis, Chrstine (Walter) Checkosis, Gladys (James) Checkosis, Elizabeth Baptiste. Brothers; David Yellowmud, Gerald (Gladys) Checkosis, Ivan (Barbara) Checkosis, Roy Checkosis, her sons: Fernard Checkosis, Clayton Checkosis, and adopted son Cyril (Seloo) Fineday.
Serving as pallbearers are Austin Fox, Shelbi Sheepskin, Dalton Fox, Jeremy Sparklingeyes, Clayton Jr. Checkosis and Ivan Jr. Checkosis.
Rosa will be laid to rest in Poundmaker Cemetery, Poundmaker First Nation, SK.
