

Sherrie “Sue” Gammel, 64, of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side at BUH on March 12, 2011. Sue is survived by her daughter Shari (Ken) Wisner and their two children, Kristopher and Kalleigh all of North Battleford, and daughter Stacie (Kelly) Delorme, and their three children, Sharidyne, Hunter and Kash, all of North Battleford, and great grandchild Temperance Gammel.
Sue was born April 13, 1946 in Dodsland, Saskatchewan to the late George and Winona Westman. She is predeceased by her sisters Bonnie Colquhoun and Mona MacKinnon.
Sue was raised in Dodsland, Saskatchewan where she met her husband Howard Gammel. They moved to Saskatoon, where they married and had Shari. Sue worked as a cook at Marquis Hall. They moved to North Battleford in 1973, and had Stacie shortly after. She worked at the Comp High School in the kitchen/cafeteria for more than 20 years. Sue curled and bowled in a league, and was a member of the local lioness club. Howard and Sue divorced in 1987. Sue retired in 2006 due to illness and spent a lot of time with her family and friends. In her spare time she liked to read, crochet, and do crosswords.
She will always be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others, for being the BEST mom and grandma, but most of all for loving us unconditionally.
The funeral was held at Wilson and Zehner Funeral Home on Wednesday March 16, 2011. Interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Saskatoon, on Friday March 18, 2011.
