Alfred Kuechler Sr., 76, of North Charleston, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 27, 2017. Al was the son of the late Edwin and Pairlee E. Kuechler. Al was born in San Pedro, CA, loved his country, having served 20 years in the United States Navy retired and currently was employed at Patriots Point USS Yorktown for 19 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rebecca Kuechler, Son Alfred Kuechler Jr., Daughter, Heather Kuechler (Shannon Dildine). And the apple of his eye Granddaughter Alayna Kuechler Mounce, brother Eddie Kuechler (Roslie ), late brother Leonard Kuechler (Mary), brother Frank Milano, sister Fran Dias (late Frank),Patricia Barry Ekdom (late Jerry), late sister Mary Ann Phelps, Millie Smith, Doris Phelps, all of his nieces and nephews and so many of his special friends including all of his co- workers at Patriots Point. Most of all he loved his family and friends unconditionally. He enjoyed taking pictures of the moon, sunsets, sunrises, and reflecting his memories of his military and world history knowledge and sharing it with everyone he met. He also enjoyed antique cars, music, and nightly episodes of Jeopardy. He was very proud to work at Patriots Point USS Yorktown where he was able to continue his love for the United States Navy. Funeral services for Al will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 1 pm at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
