

She was born February 13,1934 in Denmark, SC to the late Sylvester Glenn & Marie Sims Chinnis. She was a 1952 graduate of Chicora High School in Charleston. Ann attended Rice Business school after high school and worked as a Procurement Agent at the Charleston Air Force Base. She was very proud to bring the first C5A aircraft to Charleston. She retired in 1976.
Ann was an avid traveler, enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, spending time at the Hanahan Senior Center, and playing cards. Ann was a faithful member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Hanahan, SC.
She is survived by her children Laura A. Allison (Bill) of James Island, Amy A. Allen (Frank) of Hanahan, and A. Glenn Allison (Brooke) of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Ashleigh Haulbrooks (Trey), Megan Burch (DJ), Tyler Allen (Amanda), Rand Allison (Lydia), and Ann Frances Allison; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte Murray of Charleston, SC.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard Spivey; mother, father, and twin brothers, James and Edward Chinnis.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at Carolina Funeral Home & Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, N. Charleston, SC 29406. Service will follow.
