Mrs Barbara Lassiter Green

Barbara Ann Lassiter Green, 82, resident of the Village at Summerville and formerly of Charleston, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1:30 pm onThursday, October 29, 2015 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1157 Sam Rittenburg Blvd, Charleston, SC. Barbara was born May 17, 1933 in Meridian, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Douthert D. and Gordye M. Lassiter. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles W. Lassiter. Barbara was a graduate of North Charleston High School and received her BS in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston. She was a retired kindergarten teacher in Charleston County School District. Barbara was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a Deacon, and former long time member of Park Circle Presbyterian in North Charleston where had she served as President of Women of the Church, youth leader, church newsletter editor, and Girl Scout Troup Leader. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Clifton D. Green, Jr., of Summerville, daughter, Susan E. Green-Grove and her husband David Grove of Tega Cay, SC, son Steven D. Green and his wife Helen Greenfield of Johns Island, and two step granddaughters, Skyler Grove and Chelsea Grove Koch.
