Beryl Arnold

Beryl (Jones) Arnold, of Bishop Gadsden, Charleston, South Carolina, died on June 5, 2016 at Roper Hospital. Funeral services and burial will be private. Mrs. Arnold was born on January 20, 1924, in MA, daughter of John Seth Jones and Marguerite (Tafft) Jones. She was educated in local schools in West Hartford, CT, and attended Smith College. She was active in various civic organizations and assisted her husband, Dr. J. Herbert Arnold, as a dental receptionist. After his retirement, she became a travel agent and guided friends on tours around the world. She moved to Dataw Island, Beaufort, SC, in 1993 and then to Charleston in 1999. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Dr. J. Herbert Arnold, and her sister, Katherine Frayne. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Allen (Mark) of Montague, MA, and Katherine Peterson (Mark) of Winona, MN, a son, Stephen Arnold (Patti) of Mountain Lakes, NJ, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Residence Fund of Bishop Gadsden, 1873 Camp Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
