Betty was born January 18, 1928 to the late Joseph and Laura Newsome in Union County, NC.
Betty is survived by her children: Benny Carpenter (Robin) and Barbara Garves (Eddie).
She is proceeded in death by: her husband Billy Carpenter; her son Bart Carpenter; William Newsome (Thema), Fred Newsome, Selma Carpenter (Zeb), Bernice Wallace (Jim) and Elsie Wallace (Rhonde).
Betty was a huge Braves’ fan. Her time with family was the thing she loved the most, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday April 16, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Serves and Burial will be held in Monroe, NC next week.
