Bobbie Jean Rains

Born on December 14, 1948, in Florence, South Carolina, Bobbie was the daughter of the late Wilson Benjamin Poston and Elneta Burgess Poston. She spent much of her early childhood and teenage years at the Carolina Children’s Home in Columbia, South Carolina. Bobbie graduated from A.C. Flora High School and attended Palmer College, both located in Columbia.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 30 years, Leo Thomas Rains. She is survived by her three sons: Leo Thomas Rains Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; Wilson Clifton Rains of Charleston, SC; and Bobby Gene Rains of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Leo Thomas Rains III (Jessica) and their children Jaidyn, Leo, and Ryder; Bobby Rains Jr. (Renee) and their children Payton, Jaxon, and Axel; Bryce Rains and Brayden Rains.

She is also survived by her siblings Neakie Grossman (Frank) of Ladson, SC; Rachel Webb (Dale) of Kansas City, KS; Tommy Poston of Cross, SC; and George Trotti of Georgia. Bobbie was preceded in death by her siblings Gloria Trotti of Dahlonega, GA; Mitchel Poston of Columbia SC; Tom Trotti of Springfield, SC; Linda Thigpen of Florence, SC; and Jane McGee of Aiken, SC.

Bobbie retired from CSX Railroad and spent her spare time enjoying her many hobbies. She loved reading romance novels, creating floral arrangements, gardening, ceramic painting, and collecting porcelain dolls. Above all, Bobbie will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on September 8, 2025,at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home followed by the Life Well Celebrated Service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
