Carl Scott

Carl Stephen Scott passed away peacefully Saturday, May 2 , 2015 at the Hospice of Charleston. He worked for Navseacenflant for 40 years , and was in the United States Navy during Korea. He was a 32 nd degree mason, a Shriner, the American legion post and a veteran, having won the Golden horseshoe award for W. V. , a great honor. Carl was long time member of Deer Park Baptist Church with over 39 years attendance. He attended College in Amarillo,Texas and traveled all over the world , the U,S , Canada and Mexico. He was married to Barbara Blackmon Scott for 39 years, who was his best friend and the Love of Carl’s life. Carl was born on July 3, 1931 in Sinks Grove, WV, a son of the late Orr and Constance Scott. He was also in the U S Naval Reserve . He is survived by a daughter: Tanya Sewell ( Ron) of Sparr, SC , a sons : Carl S. Scott of Atlanta ,GA , and Thomas B. Taylor of Hanahan, SC , a brother: Orr (Yvonne) Scott of Williston, FL , a sister: Bettie Miller of Dunbar, WV , 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and love of his life: Cooper Harrelson . He was predeceased by his parent: Orr and Constance Scott, a son: James W. Scott, and a daughter: Susan Taylor Demko. The relatives and friends of Carl S. Scott are invited to attend his funeral services at Deer Park Baptist Church, 8875 University Blvd. North Charleston, SC 29406 (843)553-1172 on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 12 noon, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
