Carola Mimi McSwain

Carola Sander McSwain age 52 of Ellijay, GA died Tuesday Oct.6, 2015 at her home. Born in Summit, NJ on September 8, 1963 the daughter of Heinz Sander and the late Renada Sander. Carola graduated from Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner, SC and received her B.S. in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle University. Air Traffic Controller for the USAF stationed in Zweibrucken, Germany. Worked for Delta Airlines as a European International Flight Attendant. Serial entrepreneur and CEO of Internet Merchants. Captain in the Georgia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol serving as Communications Officer for the GA507th in Ellijay, Georgia. Received numerous awards and commendations throughout her career and community service. She was preceded in death by brother Teddy Sander. Survived by husband of 25 years, Gary McSwain and daughter Hannah McSwain. Sister and brother-in-law Regina and Marty Hendrix of Griffin, GA Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Chris and Jemmy Lea McSwain of Surfside Beach, SC. Mother-in-law Evelyn McSwain of Murrells Inlet, SC. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday Oct 11, 2015 at 4pm in the chapel of Carolina Funeral Home in North Charleston, SC. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Carola is remembered for her love for Gary and Hannah, her love and commitment to the Lord Jesus, praying constantly for people, supporting Christian causes around the world, service to Civil Air Patrol, listening to and supporting IBN radio.
